Fascination
Paris has a significant influence on fashion and now shines throughout the world thanks to its unique creations. I look forward to the famous Paris Fashion Week which will take place in January 2018, a Parisian week not to be missed...
The fashion week gives me the chance to discover wonderful pieces of clothing, to admire combinations of colours and materials. The largest French Haute Couture houses will have an impact on fashion for the next coming month.
Attending a fashion show is a pure delight! I like to observe the smallest details of luxurious clothes, and the most original accessories. This exceptional know-how, these veritable masterpieces are a source of wonderment.
Retrospective
Fashion has its own history like any other art of living and I am pleased to share it with you today.
Let us begin by travelling back in time… From the fourteenth century, fashion has attracted attention in the king’s Court. It allowed the upper classes to differ from the popular classes. In those days, courtesans wore elegant dresses made with luxurious fabrics.
It was during the course of the 19th century, thanks to Charles-Frédéric Worth that the history of fashion has really begun. The renowned French fashion designer is commonly credited is commonly credited as being the “father” of Haute Couture and organized the first couture fashion shows.
The greatest creators emerged years later, the 20th century was marked by iconic figures such as Coco Channel, Jeanne Lanvin or Yves Saint Laurent, to mention just a few.
My dear readers, I leave you with a quote from Jean-Baptiste Colbert, Minister of Louis XIV: "Fashion is for France what the gold mines of Peru are for Spain."
See you soon !
